Amazon wants to be the most customer-focused company in the world. We connect with our customers wherever they are, at any time of the day, any day of the week, and on every occasion we aim to win and maintain their trust. We grow and innovate to be able to respond adequately to their needs and, while we do, we invest in infrastructure and job creation.

We are particularly proud to have made quality jobs available to so many people. In Italy, in the course of 2021 alone, more than 4,500 were created indefinitely. On average, since starting operations in Italy in 2010, Amazon has created more than 24 permanent jobs every week.

Amazon’s first investment in Italy dates back more than 11 years and, over the years, we have invested heavily to support our growth in the country. Furthermore, if we take into account the overall investments in Italy and the contribution to GDP, Amazon has supported the Italian economy for a total of over 17 billion euros [1] since 2010.

We also continue to support the creation of large numbers of jobs even outside of Amazon by providing local businesses (many of them small and medium-sized businesses) with the technologies and tools they need to sell their products to customers. around the world, including programs such as Sell on Amazon and Fulfillment by Amazon, or the Accelera con Amazon training program that will drive the growth and digitization of more than 20,000 small businesses across Italy by the end of 2022.

According to research we conducted in March 2021, more than 50,000 people are currently employed across our entire Italian network of third party vendors as a direct result of their relationship with Amazon. Furthermore, as a direct effect of its investments, Amazon has supported the development of job opportunities throughout our Italian supply chain: more than 34,000 people now work for companies that provide services to Amazon throughout Italy.
