Nissan Z Proto engine spy shots revealed! What do the experts say?

Many of the most popular performance cars of the past have long since been discontinued due to changing consumer preferences. The good news is that there are still a few manufacturers willing to meet the needs of a few performance buyers and continue to develop products that are fun to drive. At the end of last year, Nissa Nissan finally unveiled the Nissan Z Proto concept, a showcase for the new generation of the Z. Although a series of interior and exterior drawings of the car have been released, Nissa has kept the power specifications of the Z Proto under wraps.

When the Z Proto was unveiled in September last year, Nissan only confirmed that it would be powered by a twin-turbo V6 petrol engine and a 6-speed manual transmission system. 37.32kgm of peak torque). Although Nissan has not yet released any power information or pictures of the new generation Nissan Z, it is assumed that the coupé will share the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine as the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400. m of peak torque.

An Instagram (IG) user recently snapped a photo of the engine room of the Z Proto Concept at the Nissan Crossing brand experience centre in Ginza, Japan. It is said that the staff at the showroom were tidying up the Z Proto and so the bonnet was lifted for a short period of time. The Z Proto’s engine appears to be the twin-turbocharged V6 of the Infiniti Q60, although it is fitted with an exclusive cover and yellow accessories. Experts reckon the new Nissan Z will also share the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine as the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 in the official market version. This setup is not really surprising, but what people want to know is whether the power will be reduced when this powertrain is introduced into the new Nissan Z.
