Subaru IMPREZA 2.0iS first test drive in Indonesia

Mobil Subaru 2022 also unveiled the new IMPREZA 2.0i-S saloon during the Indonesia Motor Show 2012 tour, and there is a good chance that this car will be introduced, but there is still no answer as to when it will be released and how much it will cost. Before entering the venue, Motor Image also prepared a test drive for the media in ten countries, and although there was not much time to test the car, I was able to get some initial impressions of the new IMPREZA 2.0i-S.

The IMPREZA 2.0i-S is more aggressive this time around, with its diamond-shaped cowl and flying headlights, reminiscent of the powerful frame of the Touring XV. The boning of the bonnet and pump handlebars is clearly visible, giving the car a very manly design direction. On the other hand, the rear of the car has a more modest design. As it is a medium-sized saloon, the height of the boot is not too low, so there is plenty of space for storage and the rear seats can be turned flat to make more space. The cabin is not too different from the old IMPREZA, with plenty of headroom and foot room in the rear seats.

The IMPREZA 2.0i-S is powered by the latest 5 FB20 1,995cc horizontally opposed engine, which produces a maximum of 150 hp and 196 Nm of torque. The transmission is a Lineartronic CVT, and the test drive was not too long as it was not possible to get a faster speed, but due to the continuously variable automatic transmission, the start and acceleration were very linear, which is good news for owners who like comfort. As the test track is small, we deliberately drove at a slower speed to improve the overall smoothness of corner entry and exit, and to feel the stability of the car in the torsion tank. For a saloon of this size, the handling is easy, which is what makes the IMPREZA a favorite if you want to take your family with you every day and enjoy the ride in your spare time.

For this trip, Motor Image also invited British stunt driver RUSS SWIFT to perform, whose skills in tail parking and two-wheel driving are so great that he has fans all over the world. This time, he used Subaru IMPREZA as his partner, and the audience was invited to join him during the show, and the whole performance was completed with great enthusiasm.

Information about this car:

Externally, the front of the car wash is the most obvious change, with Subaru tweaking its grille design and front bumper, as well as updating the headlight and taillight clusters. 2020 Subaru Impreza features a new wheel design and will once again be available in both trim and two-box versions. With the mid-life facelift, Subaru strives to keep things fresh in a segment that is currently shrinking.

The new Subaru Impreza offers the Eyesight Touring Assist system. The system is a driver assistance system that uses a binocular stereo camera to keep track of environmental conditions in three dimensions effectively, apply active braking when necessary and will reduce accidents caused by driver fatigue, the system will also recognise vehicles and lane markings.

Other features include adaptive headlights, a front view camera and a driver seat memory function. In addition, the 2020 Subaru Impreza is equipped with a reverse interlocking door mirror feature. When reversing, the mirrors will move downwards to make the vehicle easier to manoeuvre. The mirrors also have a memory function and automatic storage, depending on whether the vehicle is in lock or not.

In terms of power, the new car comes with either a 1.6-litre or 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine and will be offered with a choice of front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
